Open Access Training provided by SCSP partner agencies
The Corner, Sheffield’s Young Person’s substance use service provides a coordinated and effective response to the needs of young people. The service provides early help and prevention through workforce development; offering training, consultation, and resources to front line staff in social care, education and health and other partner organisations working with children and young people across the voluntary and statutory sectors.
They also provide free training to any professional working with young people in Sheffield and have a rolling training programme and sessions can be booked on via their Eventbrite page. These sessions are currently being delivered via Zoom and cover Basic Drug Awareness, Current and Emerging Trends, our Screening Tool and detailed Cannabis training. They also offer free bespoke training to organisations who request specific training for their staff, please contact them if you would like to discuss this.

Sheffield Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Mental Health Training Offer
The CAMHS multi-agency training offer is tailored to the needs prioritised by the Children's Workforce in Sheffield and is designed to equip staff to respond to the challenges they are facing. It will be updated based on annual survey responses from the Children's Workforce and professionals are encouraged to influence content. The skilled training team involves CAMHS Nurses, Psychiatrists, Primary Mental Health Workers, Psychologists, Art Psychotherapists and Family Therapists. IDAS is the largest specialist charity in Yorkshire supporting people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. Services include refuge accommodation, community based support, peer mentoring, group work, training and access to a free, confidential out of hours helpline.

There is a range of free awareness training options at ZeroSuicideAlliance.com/training which support better understanding of the signs to look out for and the skills required to approach somebody who is struggling. The website also hosts stories and videos that could be used in single-agency awareness training.
