Where a child or adult member of any family has mental health issues, this may impact on the household and might involve child or adult protection issues.
All agencies and services for adults and children must work together to ensure that in particular, the voice of the child is heard.
Parental Mental Health Task Group
In April 2018 SCSP and SHSC established a parental mental health task group involving all the key partner agencies. The main aim was to improve multi-agency working with families where there was mental ill health within the household. Workshops and a joint case review have been conducted with adult and children's services. The resulting learning brief is below.
Below are SCSP fact sheets, policies and protocols, and training to help you and your workforce understand the issues involved, know when to ask for support and to get help when it is needed.
