Alternative Education Providers (SCC) Training
All face to face safeguarding training is cancelled until further notice. We are currently converting our courses to 'virtual' training and we will email all DSL/D's to let them know when this is available.
The safeguarding training pathway and audit tool for Alternative Education Providers supported by Sheffield City Council are here:
This pathway is part of the contract with SCC and is monitored regularly for compliance.
Safeguarding Children Induction:
E-learning Safeguarding in Education:
This free course is for staff and volunteers working in an education setting. It is a useful introduction to safeguarding but does not replace the Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training (this will resume once it has been transferred to a 'virtual' platform).
The course will take an estimated 2 hours and can be saved & completed in sections. It will consider key legislation, signs of abuse and neglect, safe working practices, concerns about a child or young person, early intervention, and other current issues.
To apply, please use this link for the self-registration process.
Basic Safeguarding Children in Education Training:
This course is being converted to a 'virtual' medium and details of when it is available will be posted here. In the interim staff who are due their 3-yearly basic training are asked instead to complete the e-learning Safeguarding in Education training above.
Advanced Safeguarding Children in Education Training:
Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies (DSL/D's) complete this training with DSL/D's from all Sheffield education settings.
