Voluntary, Community & Faith Sector Safeguarding Children Training

Voluntary, Community & Faith Sector staff training

All of the Sheffield Children's Safeguarding Partnership's training is available to those working and volunteering in the voluntary, community and faith sector.  This includes conferences, courses, safeguarding workshops, and E-Learning.

The Sheffield Children Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) recommends that staff (paid workers and volunteers) working with children and young people in Sheffield who require introductory level safeguarding children training undertake the free SCSP e-learning course: Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training.

It is recommended that those with a safeguarding lead role should also attend the 1-day multi-agency Working Together to Safeguard Children course.

In-house Safeguarding Training  **COMING SOON**

The SCSP will soon be offering an ‘off the shelf’ Safeguarding Children Introductory Course for practitioners working in the voluntary/community/faith sector who wish to deliver introductory level safeguarding training in-house. This has the advantage that it can be tailored to your work environment, align with your policies and procedures and will support discussions about safeguarding in the context of your service.

It is strongly recommended that staff delivering the course have attended the Working Together to Safeguard Children Course and frequently update their safeguarding knowledge by attending other workshops, training and conference events.

This in-house programme which will be available soon aims to provide practitioners with knowledge of good safeguarding practice, an understanding of their responsibilities under key pieces of legislation and associated guidance, and details of local safeguarding procedures.   The training presentation, trainer notes and participants handbook will be available to download on this page.
