Safeguarding Workshop - Neglect Awareness Training

Neglect involves not meeting a child’s basic physical and psychological needs. It is the most common form of child abuse. It can have serious and long-lasting impacts on a child’s life.
This short course will support practitioners from all agencies to develop a foundation of understanding about child neglect. It is suitable for new practitioners and those whose contact with children in the line of their work may be brief.
After this course you will be able to:
- Identify the harm caused by child neglect.
- Demonstrate understanding about different forms of neglect.
- Recognise when a child is being neglected or is at risk of neglect.
- Know how to access support for families when you have concerns.
