Education Settings - Understanding, Recognising and Accommodating FASD (for special schools only)
This event has been designed for the safeguarding teams in Sheffield Special schools.
Due to the over-representation of FASD amongst CLA it will also be relevant for CLA Designated teachers and other relevant pastoral staff from Sheffield special schools.
The day will be lead by Mandy Craig from the Sheffield Children’s Safeguarding Partnership (SCSP) and Dr Girish Vaidya, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Safeguarding Children Advisors will also be in attendance to support delivery and answer questions.
The content will include:
- The importance of the prevention message
- Recognising and diagnosing FASD
- Reflections from clinical practice
- Supporting students with FASD
Attendance must be prioritised Non-attendance without prior cancellation or agreement will be charged if it is not in line with our charging policy.
