- Examples of who might attend; SENDCos, pastoral staff such as Learning Mentors, Year/Pastoral/Inclusion Leaders/Managers, Family Engagement/Liaison Officers/Workers, School Office managers, SLT members who are not on the safeguarding team.
- If you are a DSL/D as defined above please book the Advanced Initial training for DSL/Ds course, if you book to attend this Intermediate course you will be notified and removed.
- Main Focus: Early Help, TAF, Belonging. Threshold of Need Level 2 “Getting Help-Early Support”, with some elements of Level 3 ‘Targeted Support’.
- It is expected that course participants will work closely with the DSL and safeguarding team in your setting but that should concerns for a child or young person reach the threshold for social care involvement that this would be passed to the members of your safeguarding team that have completed the Advanced Initial training for DSL/Ds. This Intermediate course does not provide participants with sufficient knowledge, information or understanding to undertake child protection level work for example.
- No refresher is required for this course. However, should there be significant changes to guidance or practice around the main focus points of this course we may suggest and offer additional training to those that have attended this course and content will be updated as and when necessary.
- This training will take place over a full day, starting promptly at 9.00am so please ensure you arrive and are settled in good time for the start. If you arrive late it will be at the trainer’s discretion to decide whether you need to re-book for another date.
