Evaluation and Impact of Safeguarding Children Training

'The only thing worse than training your employees and having them leave is not training them and having them stay'.  Henry Ford

The SSCB provides a wide range of multi-agency training and learning events, available to any practitioner working with children and families in the city.  The difficulty in providing hard, measurable evidence that safeguarding training has directly resulted in better outcomes for children is well documented, nonetheless, it is possible to identify and 'measure' activity which contributes to this.

All SSCB training and learning events are evaluated in order to discern not just the quality of the training experience but also the difference it is making to practice, and the attached document, "Impact of SSCB multi-agency training - How do we know we are making a difference' provides an overview of our approach to training and evaluation, how we aim to ensure that training and learning events are effective, and the methods used to measure and demonstrate how it impacts on outcomes for children, young people and the families.
